Flues

Flue pipes produce sound by means of a steady stream of wind impinging on the lip of the pipe. Like a whistle, the wind sheet creates oscillations in the air inside the pipe at a pitch determined by the length of the pipe. This length can be adjusted in order to tune the pipe.

Flue pipes are generally made of wood or metal.
